Saturday football
A magnificent couple of footballing days are in store, with two FA Cup semis and some serious fixtures in both the Premier League and the Championship. Arsenal or Liverpool can overtake Man C at the top while the Blues strut their stuff at Wembley. Sunday sees Coventry take on Man U. And they say the romance of the Cup is dead. It’s not. Who were the last side from outside the top division to have won the FA Cup?

At the bottom, Sheff U and Burnley will meet in what’s likely to be a dress rehearsal for next season. Mind you, a Burnley win would see the gap between them and Forest, one place above the dotted line, reduce to just three points. That would bring late hope to the Clarets. Everton and Forest also meet in another vital bottom of the table clash, made more meaningful by Luton hosting Brentford who have little or nowt to play for.

The Championship is as tight as ever with Ipswich, Leicester, Leeds and Southampton scrabbling for the top two places. Tuesday sees Leicester take on the Saints in what could be a truly vital contest with massive ramifications for both sides. The Foxes host the Baggies, in fifth place, in Saturday’s early game.

At the bottom, Rotherham are gone, which leaves Sheff Wed, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Stoke and QPR separated by three points with three to play and two relegation places to resolve.

Can't get excited about any of that

Season's petered out now innit blud.

Damp squib fam.

West Ham ain't gonna get a European spot and Man City are gonna win the league at a canter like everyone knew they would all along

My only interest now is hoping Everton get relegated, which they fucking won't. Cunts.

Lenny old boy,Luton v Brentford, Coventry v Man U, Everton v Forest, and Everton v Liverpool are all worth getting a little bit excited about. IMHO.

Re: Saturday football
My sub-sea cable-laying friend (rampant, entitled Liverpool fan, who's just arrived back in Thailand), our mutual doctor friend (rampant & entitled Man U fan, known affectionately as Mau Doc in the village (he's driving, so exciting biting on the way home)) and myself are going down to a bar in Buri Ram to watch the Man U/Coventry game.

To be quite honest, I've no real interest in the game (apart from having placed a bet on a Coventry/Chelsea final), but the distracting totty is likely to be first class, whatever happens.

So, not really football focused, but I might well score tonight, if no one else does, which may well trigger a few posters on here.

How the fuck did Sheffield United take a point off us?

twoleftfeet 9:10 Sat Apr 20
Re: Saturday football
Because the referee gave them a penalty which should have been a free kick to us and then bottled a foul on Bowen in the last seconds.

Man City don’t have that air of invincibility about them anymore.

Coventry have a decent chance, imo. They'll go for the jugular.

Grealish must be one of the most overated players out there.

100m wasn't he? That's a fucking robbery. I thought we robbed Arsenal for Rice but Grealish looks like crime of the century. Caceido must be a close second though. Chelsea have a lot of dross, Jackson looks like some cunt out of the crowd that won a halftime competition. Madueke also shit, Gallagher, shit. Loads of em.

Re: Saturday football
Looking at all those old videos of the old Wembley and Cup Final days of the past it's really lost its spice hasn't it. Yes it needed rebuilding but why not just rebuild a modern version of what it was, crowd closer to the pitch, but dressing rooms in the corner for the long walk out and they should have kept the iconic twin towers. It just looks like a regular football stadium now, albeit bigger. Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Ha Ha Chelsea out. Hopefully FFP will catch them out this summer if they don't get European football. Would love to see them docked points.

Re: Saturday football
Arsenal win, but seeing Gary Oneil's comments before the game, not like this lack of squad is just a West Ham problem....

"For the starting XI tomorrow, I have 10 senior outfield players to pick from that can start. It's probably the worst situation we've been in".
